The Art Studio

The Studio
Welcome to The Studio - a space where creativity becomes conversation, healing, and self-discovery.

My connection to creativity began long before I became a therapist. I grew up in my father's art studio, surrounded by the smell of oil paints, canvases waiting to be transformed, and the quiet dedication that comes from creating something meaningful. Watching him paint taught me that art isn't simply about producing something beautiful, it is a language. A way of expressing thoughts, emotions, memories, and experiences that words sometimes cannot reach.

That early experience has shaped the therapist I am today.

One of the biggest misconceptions about Arts Therapy is that you need to be 'good at art.'
The truth is, you don't need any artistic ability whatsoever.
Arts Therapy is never about creating a masterpiece. It is about exploring, expressing, processing, and discovering.
There is no right or wrong, no judgement, and no expectation.

Your creative expression
is uniquely yours
Your creative expression is uniquely yours.

Arts Therapy is also far more than drawing or painting. It can include writing and journalling, clay and sculpting, collage, photography, movement, music, sound, storytelling, symbols, mindfulness, imagination, and many other creative processes.
Each modality offers a different doorway into understanding yourself and supporting your healing journey.

Sometimes words are enough.
Sometimes they aren't.

Creativity allows us to access emotions, memories and insights that may have been difficult to express through conversation alone.
It can gently bypass the thinking mind, helping us reconnect with our inner wisdom, regulate the nervous system, process life experiences, and rediscover parts of ourselves that may have been forgotten.

Every session is tailored to you. Together, we'll explore creative approaches that feel comfortable, meaningful, and supportive of your individual goals.
Whether you pick up a paintbrush, shape clay with your hands, write a letter you'll never send, create a collage, or simply explore colour and movement, every experience is guided with purpose and compassion.

The Studio is not about perfection
It is about permission.

Permission to explore.

Permission to express.

Permission to heal.

If you've ever thought, 'I'm not creative enough,' then this space was created especially for you.

You don't need experience, only curiosity and a willingness to take the first step.

Sometimes the most powerful healing begins with simply giving yourself permission to create.
